Dr. Rajendra Prasad was the first President of Indian democracy. He was one of the successful leaders of Indian politics and also a trained lawyer. He joined the Indian National Congress during the Indian Independence Campaign and proved to be a major leader from the Bihar region.

As an assistant to Mahatma Gandhi, British Authority also imprisoned Prasad in the Salt Satyagraha of 1931 and the Quit India Movement of 1942.

Rajendra Prasad served India from 1934 to 1935 as the President of the Indian National Congress. And served as the Food and Agriculture Minister of the Central Government in the 1946 election.

After independence in 1947, Prasad was appointed as President in the Organizing Assembly. On 3 December 1884, Dr. Rajendra Prasad was born in a small town name Ziradei, in Bihar. His father’s name was Mahadev Sahai, and his mother’s name was Kamleshwari Devi. His father was very knowledgeable in Sanskrit and Persian languages.

While his mother was a religious woman, who used to narrate stories of Ramayana to Rajendra Prasad. At the age of 12, Dr. Prasad got married. His wife’s name was Rajvanshi Devi.

If we talk about Prasad’s education, at the age of 5, Prasad’s parents used to send him to a cleric so that he could get knowledge of Persian, Urdu, Hindi language.
